WHO WE ARE

New Ground Research is an independent foundation and think tank with two offices— A non-profit foundation in Granada, Spain, and an advisory office in Doha, Qatar.

 

The foundation’s flagship and multi-year initiative focuses on combatting Islamophobia and antisemitism (GIIA) through the  framework with a diversity of experts, insights and initiatives. New Ground also works on illuminating Mediterranean exchange past and present, towards a nuanced understanding of the networks of exchange and the interconnectedness of the Mediterranean by exploring areas such as trade, war, architecture, art, knowledge exchange, and other areas. New Ground Research also provides expert analyses and nuanced geoeconomic and geopolitical insights that deepen understanding and provide clarity on Middle East and GCC politics, security and geoeconomic dynamics and trajectories.

INITIATIVES

Global Initiative to Combat Islamophobia & Antisemitism (GIIA)

GIIA is a pioneering project that has evolved over several years to develop an international approach for addressing the roots of these twin forms of racism and their contemporary manifestations.

The initiative focuses on how shifting power balances and domestic dynamics across key Middle Eastern actors shape emerging security arrangements and the evolving role of external powers, offering policy-relevant insights for de-escalation, dialogue, and regional confidence-building.

Mediterranean Intercultural Narrative Advancement (MEDINA)

The MEDINA Initiative aims to enhance dialogue by reimagining the Mediterranean Sea not as a dividing border but a shared space of a complex historical relation of political, cultural, economic, and intellectual exchange between its shores.
