The New Ground Research Foundation organised, in cooperation with the UN Office for the Prevention of Genocide and the "Essex Human Rights 30 Forum," an official panel discussion - the first of its kind - on the margins of the 4th International Day for Countering Hate Speech - entitled "The Granada Declaration: A Unified Framework for Combatting Islamophobia and Antisemitism" held on the 17th of June, 2025.
Panellists introduced the Granada Declaration of Principles on Combatting Islamophobia and Antisemitism, how these principles came to fruition, and their significance from legal, academic and human rights standpoints. Panellists also shared ways in which these principles can be applied across 7 arenas of engagement, and how to mainstream the fight against these racisms within the work of the United Nations.
